Why We Built This Site
Minnesota makes many court records public, while applying different access rules to remote files, courthouse records, confidential material, and certified copies. Scott County District Court keeps the local trial-court record. Minnesota Court Records Online, known as MCRO, supplies a remote public search layer. The Scott County Law Library’s MPA courthouse view supplies more complete public electronic access, and Court Administration handles certified copies and local records questions.
The aim is practical routing. A case number can lead to an MCRO case record, the daily Scott calendar can help confirm a setting, and Court Administration can process a copy request for a Scott District Court record. These are different tasks and use different official systems.
What You Will Find Here
- Docket explanations: how criminal court dockets and civil court dockets are searched and read in Scott County
- Hearing information: how to use the court schedule and verify a listed setting
- Case lookup: how to use docket search fields in MCRO for a name or complete case number
- Official copy routes: how court case records and certified copies are requested through Court Administration
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site, with no connection to a Minnesota court, Court Administration, or state agency. Its limits are straightforward:
- We cannot pull an official docket sheet or case file for anyone
- We cannot change, reschedule, or reset a court date or hearing setting
- We cannot remove, seal, or amend a case on any docket
- We cannot issue certified copies of any docket, order, or court document
- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific case applies to you
- We cannot guarantee that a phone number, fee, or setting remains current
Only Scott County Court Administration or the court that holds the file can issue an official or certified copy. An MCRO result or a reference summary is not a substitute.
Search Partners
Some pages include search boxes supplied by third-party providers. Those providers run their own services and establish their own charges. A completed paid signup may generate a referral fee that supports the resource. Neither their results nor their prices are controlled here.
